Monroe, GA — Local entrepreneur and longtime Georgia resident Marc McMain announced today that he will be running for the Georgia State Senate to represent District 46, which includes portions of Barrow, Clarke, Oconee, Walton, and Gwinnett Counties. McMain enters the race following the decision by current Senator Bill Cowsert to run for Georgia Attorney General.

"I want to start by thanking Senator Cowsert for his years of service to our district," McMain said. "As he campaigns for a new role, I’m stepping up to make sure our communities continue to have strong, conservative representation at the Capitol."

McMain began earning a paycheck at just 14 years old. Since then, he’s built a reputation as a successful small business owner and community advocate. He owns the Town Values magazine—formerly known as The MTM Shopper—and is in the final stages of acquiring a local radio station to further invest in community-centered media.

McMain and his wife Liliana, live in Monroe, Georgia and are proud parents of two adult sons Marcus and Mathew.

“From my wife Liliana becoming a U.S. citizen 15 years ago, to our older son graduating from the United States Naval Academy in 2023, and our younger son now preparing to graduate from Georgia College & State University—and all the special moments in between—my family has truly lived the American Dream. And for us, that dream took root right here in Georgia. It’s where we raised our family and built several businesses from the ground up. I’m running for the Georgia State Senate to protect the values that made it all possible. Because every Georgia family deserves the same opportunity to build their future and live their own American Dream.”

McMain is deeply engaged in local affairs and has served as the Chairman of the Walton County GOP where he has focused on growing the party and electing conservatives to every level of government. His campaign will focus on cutting taxes, reducing government overreach, improving K–12 education, supporting law enforcement, and advancing the America First principles of President Trump’s agenda. He is also a strong supporter of Lieutenant Governor Burt Jones’ DOGE initiative, aimed at driving innovation and growth in Georgia's economy.

"My goal is simple: to bring the same work ethic and conservative principles I’ve lived by my entire life to the State Senate," McMain said. "I’ll fight every day for the families and small businesses of District 46."
